Garden City police, fire raise money for family's funeral

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – The Garden City police and fire departments will be at the intersection of Highway 80 and Chatham Parkway Saturday, to raise money for a family that has to bury two children.

Friday Aug. 13, 8-year-old Decorious Fabin, and his sister, 15-year-old Kierra, were riding in the car with their aunt when police say she pulled into the path of a semi-truck.

Both children were killed in the accident.

Teresa Fabin, the kids' mother, said they do not have the money needed for a funeral. A funeral would cost $8,500.

"We need some kind of help," said Fabin.

Garden City's finest have stepped up to provide that help.

Officers and firefighters will be at the scene of last week's fatal crash, accepting donations for the children's funeral.
