CHESNEE, SC (CBS) - Alvin Green has avoided the media spot light, but Saturday the surprise candidate for U.S. Senate showed up to a voter registration drive in Chesnee, South Carolina.
Green spoke about his goal of ending the recession. He was also indicted by a grand jury on a felony charge earlier this month.
"They are just using it to just to smear my campaign and, I'm not gonna let them do that. I am going to focus on the issues and not negative distractions. There's, uh, my lawyer is dealing with that and we just have to be patient," said Alvin Green, U.S. Senate Candidate.
Green was arrested last November , after police say he showed pornography to a student in the University of South Carolina computer lab.
