Military Women Honored

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Women of all military branches were honored for their sacrifice Saturday night.

They all gathered at the Hyatt.  It was part of the 17th Bi-Annual National Association of Black Military Women Conference, wrapping up with a banquet.

The women remembered those currently serving in our nation's military, and those who came before them.

"We have a history. And when we so often say, 'history', which everybody knows about, we say 'her-story'. So we want to tell her story. We want to tell our story because a lot of people don't know that we had women serving in the military even as far back as the Revolutionary War," said Sparkle Adams.

The group hoped to leave a legacy for future women in the military. They also proudly showed off memorabilia at the event of those who served before them.
