SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Saturday was a day to "take a soldier fishing."
Forty-two boats took some of our finest in uniform out for a day on the water. There was also a friendly competition to see who could catch the biggest fish.
It was a day of music, food and fun, put together to thank the soldiers who serve our country.
"We had very good success. Lot's of fish were caught..and the soldiers really had a good time. They key to this is we want these guys to have a fun day on the water. They're 24-7, boots on the ground, 365 days a year. They don't get a chance to do this and that's what it's all about," said Byron Stephens Sr., Event Organizer
The event also included fireworks, and a singing of the National Anthem.
