It wasn't exactly Friday night lights, but it didn't seem to matter to area teams.  Several squads were forced to resume game action Saturday afternoon after severe weather pushed through the area Friday.

The action on the field, unphased.

Groves earned its first win of the season with a 19-12 decision over Savannah Highat Savannah's Memorial Stadium.

In Hilton Head, Bluffton silenced nearby rival Hilton Head with a 39-0 shutout.  Running Desmond Jenkins set the tone with two rushing touchdowns early in the game for a combined total of over 100 yards.

In the SCISA, first year team St. Paul Academy opened the year with a 22-8 come-from behind-win over Coastal Christian.
