Heat advisory continues

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A heat advisory is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Monday.

The heat advisory has been issued for these Georgia counties: Bryan, Effingham, Liberty, Bulloch, Screven, Candler, Evans, Tattnall, Long, McIntosh. The advisory also affects these South Carolina counties: Hampton, Jasper and Beaufort.

High temperatures in the mid 90s combined with moderate humidity levels will produce heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees across much of southeast Georgia and portions of southern South Carolina, according to the National Weather Service.

Some relief from the heat could occur by mid to late afternoon as scattered showers and thunderstorms develop.
