SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Coastal Empire residents will soon have more public transportation options.
City leaders from Hinesville, Flemington and Fort Stewart plan to announce on Sept. 7 the launch of the Liberty Transit system at the Liberty Regional Medical Center, which is the main transfer station for the system in Hinesville. The official startup day for the transit system will be announced at the Sept. 7 ribbon cutting event, according a Hinesville spokeswoman.
The first year of transit service will operate three routes in Hinesville, Flemington and Fort Stewart, according to a fact sheet. One bus trip costs $1 and a half fare of 50 cents is available to eligible passengers.
