SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - One father is on a mission to educate and uplift parents of special needs children. After Chris Lyman and his wife Jen found out their son, Bower, had cerebral palsy, they got on the move.
Chris, who is from New Orleans, started a bike ride from Bar Harbor, Maine to Jacksonville, Florida. He stopped in Savannah on Thursday to tell us about what inspired him to begin this journey.
"We wanted to send a message to parents and families of kids with special needs that life isn't over when you have that situation develop and you can still do big things," said Lyman. "You can still take on big challenges and your child can be a part of that."
Chris hopes to arrive in Jacksonville by mid-September and he tells us that he is right on time.
