Tybee police chief retires early

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -  After months of controversy, Tybee Island Police Chief Jimmy Price is now officially retired.

Price's suspension ended on Thursday and city council members accepted his bid for early retirement. Price was suspended back in June after an investigation against two of his police officers for Tasing and autistic teen.

"You've got somebody who worked very hard and did a lot of good things for Tybee over the years. It's bittersweet. But I'm happy it all came to an end in a way we can all live with," said Tybee mayor Jason Buelterman.

Tybee Island city officials have not said when they will start looking for a replacement.
