HILTON HEAD, SC (WTOC) - From all star athletes to comedians and chefs, all sorts of celebrities are gathering on Hilton Head Island this weekend for the 30th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament, which benefits about 20 children's charities in the Lowcountry.

On Friday, golfers teed off for Local's Day on the Author Hill's course at Palmetto Hall along side a few celebrities.

"There is not to many charities tournaments left and when you see one like this that is out there raising money for kid's charities and helping so many young people have a good quality of life, you feel so blessed that you get invited, especially after so many years of being out of games we've played or professions we've did, and have people still invite you down here to raise money for kids, it is an honor," said Cincinnati Reds Doug Flynn.

"It is nice to be a celebrity in your adopted hometown, and number two the number of charities locally that this event helps out, I am proud to be apart of it," said Cincinnati Bengals Ken Anderson.

The 30th Hilton Head Celebrity golf tournament runs from Friday through Sunday.
