SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The City of Savannah will have their monthly Operation Clean Sweep in the Paradise Park and Oakhurst neighborhoods from Saturday, September 4 through Friday, September 10.
The city is asking residents who would like to throw away their bulky items, such as old furniture and appliance, to place them curbside on Friday night for pickup on Saturday morning.
City crews will also be throughout the neighborhoods cutting overgrown areas, towing abandoned vehicles, picking up trash, trimming limbs. Residents are being offered free blood pressure checks, smoke detectors and home fire safety checks.
The city is urging residents to particpate to make sure their property is up to code. Questions and concerns can be brought to the command center located at Dunwoody Drive and Edgewater Road.
