SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Chapter of the American Red Cross plans to meet with 26 victims of a rooming house fire.
Early Saturday morning, a fire broke out at a rooming house, where people were living because they were displaced from a fire earlier in the week.
More than half were in the building and needed to get out. Nearly 20 people are homeless.
The Red Cross will meet with fire victims at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Service Center to work out their needs as they move forward. The victims have been placed in a hotel, but will have to move out Tuesday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire officials said the building is a total loss. Residents have been put up in hotels and are being helped by the Red Cross.
