Officials recommend mandatory flu shots for health workers

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Pediatricians are calling for mandatory flu shots for all doctors, nurses and other health workers. The American Academy of Pediatrics says mandatory vaccines are needed to protect patients.

The group says voluntary vaccination programs haven't worked and there's evidence health workers have passed the flu to patients. 3 million flu sufferers visit hospitals every year.
