STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - The GSU ROTC Battalion contracted seven more cadets at a ceremony Thursday morning. The signing means more than just taking part in the program, but advanced training for a military career after graduation. The battalion commander says that committment is worth celebrating.
"Not all cadets contract with us and that's okay. But those who choose to do this during these times when the military has two campaigns across the world and they do it anyway, that's encouraging," said Battalion Commander Lt. Col. George Fredrick.
Their big guest challenged the cadets to do some pushups. He's Col. Leo Impavido, who is in charge of the high school and ROTC programs across the southeastern United States.
