SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Savannah man who is being held on drug charges is expected be arraigned Friday.
John Willie Stevens, 55, of Savannah, was arrested and charged after a search warrant was carried out by the Savannah-Chatham Counter Narcotics Team along with the Chatham County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit.
Agents conduced the search early Thursday morning at a home in the 300 block of West 32nd Street. They seized crack cocaine, four firearms, drug related items and more than $1000 in cash. At least one of the seized firearms was found to be stolen, according to authorities..
Detectives from Savannah-Chatham metro police were called to the scene after what was believed to be a large amount of stolen property was found inside the residence.
Stevens was charged with possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, theft by receiving stolen property (gun) and possession of drug-related Items.
He is being held at the Chatham County Detention Center. More charges are expected in the case.
