Fire destroys Georgetown home

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Two people are without a home because of an afternoon fire in the Georgetown area. When firefighters arrived on Red Fox Drive just before 1 p.m. they found the garage fully engulfed in flames, with both cars inside on fire, and the attic space fully taken over by fire.

Firefighters were forced to tear into the home through the roof.

No one was injured but the family's three cats died of smoke inhalation.
