HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - Next month is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Avid Gardeners of Hilton Head Plantation are planting it pink.
Usint pink flowers and pink flower pots, they have created a beautiful garden in the shape of a pink ribbon at the entrance of Hilton Head Hospital.
"We're hoping people, women in general, are more aware of the need to have an annual mamogram and here at the Hilton Head Hospital there are women right now undergoing treatment and it will give them inspiration and hope," said Sandy Stern, Avid Gardners of HH Plantation.
In addition to all the hard work by the gardeners, a number of businesses, including Lowe's of Bluffton, the Greenery and Hilton Head Hospital, helped make the garden possible.
There will be an official ribbon cutting and dedication on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
