Camp Invention

Nearly 50 kids throughout Beaufort County are getting their hands on science this week through Camp Invention. It's a week-long camp designed to promote creative learning by providing children with hands-on science activities. Throughout the week, kids get a chance to make their own inventions, explore archeology, and learn to survive on a new planet.

Camp director Cyndi Lauricella explained the exercise, "There's 'Planet ZAK,' where we crash land them on a planet and they have to survive and get back to Earth. They've been through acid rain storms and had to build space suits and rocket ships and today they've been out searching for food in a swamp."

Other camps will be offered throughout the Coastal Empire and Low Country throughout the summer. To find out more information, visit Camp Invention online.
