Small Business Help

Looking to start up a small business in Savannah? The city and the Economic Opportunity Authority want to help. They've started the new individual development account program to help people save enough money to start a business.

The way it works is, you put $50 a month into a special savings account and they'll match you four to one. That's $200. You have to this for two years to get the benefits.

In order to qualify, people have to meet annual income guidelines. A family of four has to make less than $36,000, have a regular source of income, live in Savannah and take a ten-part personal finance and money management workshop.

If you're interested, call Natalie Moultrie at 652-3579 or Terry Tolbert at 238-2960, ext. 115.
