RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) - State lawmakers are continuing to look into the legality of speed cameras on Interstate 95 through Ridgeland. City leaders want lawmakers to see the operation before they consider the legislation to outlaw it.
An amendment to a state transportation bill last year made it clear that cameras could be used to enforce traffic laws only under very specific circumstances.
In May, Ridgeland started using a traffic cameras to catch speeders and issue citations.
