AASU hopes to make Day of Service a tradition

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - More than 400 Armstrong Atlantic State University volunteers hit the streets for the first Savannah Day of Service this past weekend.

Armstrong students, faculty and staff helped 10 non-profit organizations all across town from West Broad YMCA to Union Mission.

It's all part of AASU President Linda Bleicken's emphasis on getting the university more involved in the community. This is the first year for the day of service, but AASU is hoping to make it a tradition.
