GSU wins grant to research childhood obesity

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Could childhood obesity issues begin before birth?

Georgia Southern University's College of Health and Human Sciences just won nearly $25,000 to research the issue.

GSU has teamed up with faculty colleagues from the University of Georgia, the Medical College of Georgia and East Georgia Regional Medical Center for the study.

The research is geared toward promoting preventative measures in the earliest stages of prenatal development by offering an online course and promoting physical activity among pregnant women.
