Wilmington Island to get new multi-purpose path

WILMINGTON ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - The Wilmington Island Girl Scout Troop 30008 will get to see the new sidewalk project they rallied for get under way.

The troop wrote to the Savannah's Engineering Office in April to bring attention to the need for a sidewalk so children can walk safely or ride their bikes to May Howard Elementary School on Cromwell Road.

The Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors found out last week that their concerns were heard. Wednesday afternoon is the groundbreaking ceremony for a new multi-purpose path on Cromwell Road.
