Armstrong hosting 5k pirate run

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Armstrong Atlantic State University is hosting a 5K run/walk on Bull Street on Saturday, September 25 to kick off a new university tradition and celebrate Armstrong's 75th anniversary.

After the race, Leopold's Ice Cream will serve Pirate's Treasure ice cream, a new flavor created in honor of Armstrong's 75th anniversary. The cost is .75 cents per scoop to the public and the ice cream is free for those who registered for the race.

The 5K Armstrong Pirates on the Run will start and finish at the north end of Forsyth Park, close to the Armstrong House which is where the university was founded in 1935.

All money raised will go towards supporting scholarships.
