BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) - Unemployment rates are not getting better in the Lowcountry. Beaufort County jumped to nine percent and Jasper County is still over 10 percent. To help job seekers, the Beaufort County Library held a summit at the Bluffton Public Library.
Dozens of leaders came together to discuss the roles each of them play and how they can work together to help those looking for work.
"Anytime you can pull your resources where budgets are being cut and people aren't able to afford as many services as thy once had, it's better to pull together to know where your strengths are and who can do the best with the least amount of money," said Amanda Brewer, Beaufort County Library.
The plan on meeting again in a few months to discuss more ways they can work together.
