CEMA leads emergency ops training session

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – The Chatham Emergency Management Agency led Emergency Operations Center training Wednesday for nearly 40 first responders, city and county employees, military personnel and businesses.

The one-day session gives hands-on learning for those responsible for staffing their Emergency Operations Center during an emergency.

The Emergency Operations Center serves as a central location where local governments collaborate, coordinate and communicate during an emergency event to support recovery operations, according to CEM. It can be activated during an emergency events such as a hurricane and or even special holiday events such as Savannah's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
