LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) – Rain is slowing the search for a missing Liberty County woman.
The Liberty County Sheriff's Office said 42-year-old Lori Arrowood left her home off John Wells Road in Gum Branch on Saturday.
She was last seen by her 17-year-old daughter. She said her mom took her purse and cell phone but not the family car.
No one has heard from her since Saturday afternoon.
The rain caused some delays Monday as the search continued for a missing woman in Liberty County.
An army of volunteers hit the ground to search for Arrowood.
More than 100 soldiers who serve with Arrowood's husband came out Monday to help with the search. Her husband is deployed to Iraq but commanders are trying to get him home now. The soldiers worked through heavy rain and severe weather to search the acres around the Arrowood home for any clue. But search experts say it will be a daunting task.
"[It's difficult] especially when we're talking about such a rural area with thick brush. There are ponds out there that she could have fallen into and bar pits that have been dug. It is a needle in a haystack," said Capt. Chris Johanson of Hinesville Search and Rescue.
