Consumer Reports: Save energy, save money

Kim Kleman is the editor-in-chief of Consumer Reports, a magazine known for its ratings of products and services and for its consumer investigations. Each week on The News Now, Kleman showcases a unique mix of expert, independent product testing, survey research, investigative journalism and consumer advocacy.

Monday, Kleman explained how saving energy can save you money. Kleman said the biggest way to save is to insulate and seal cracks and gaps in your ducts. Doing this can help reduce energy costs by 30 percent. Another way to save is to add insulation. Properly insulating and sealing your home can cut your heating and cooling bills by 10 percent.
