Upright Citizens Brigade to perform at Lucas Theatre

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – The Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Co., the renowned improv and sketch comedy troupe, is headed to Savannah for a one-night show.

The show is at 8 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Lucas Theatre, 32 Abercorn St. The show relies on audience participation to inspire the performers.

The Upright Citizens Brigade alums include comedian Amy Poehler from "Parks and Recreation," Jack McBrayer from "30 Rock;" Bobby Moynihan and Horatio Sanz from "Saturday Night Live," Ellie Kemper of "The Office".

This show kicks off SCAD Performing Arts' new improvisation and sketch comedy track led by the department's newest professor, David Storck, most recently artistic director at Gotham City Improv in New York.

Tickets are $5 with SCAD ID. General admission is $10. Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.scadboxoffice.com or by calling 912.525.5050.

    Subtropical Storm Alberto continues to bring heavy rain and a high risk for rip currents to the Gulf Coast.  Alberto is just west of Tampa and moving to north by northwest at 12mph.  Peak winds are 50 mph and no significant strengthening is expected as we head into Monday.
