SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Marshpoint Elementary is now in the running for a $25,000 technology grant from Pepsi. Kindergarten teachers at Marshpoint Elementary applied for the Pepsi Refresh Grant.
If they win, they would receive $25,000 to improve technology at the school. Teachers say the money would be used to purchase smart boards and cameras so they can Skype with their penpals across the world.
"It would really help us and it's great it doesn't always have to come down to the taxpayers paying," said Kindergarten Teacher Leslie Ducey. "There's a lot of grants that corporations are able to offer and it's a great opportunity to bring in technology without having to go to our PTA who have been very generous in the past and helped us with technology before and without having to go to our taxpayers money it's a great opportunity."
