United Way presents Goodwill employee with prize

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The United Way Prize patrol visited Goodwill Industries in Savannah on Monday to present Lille Slater with a Tybee vacation and a gift basket.

Lillie works at the Goodwill Industries in Claxton and was visiting the Savannah store. She attended a United Way campaign meeting where she filled out a card for the drawing.

"The moral of the story is that when you do good, you get good back because here we had this very sweet lady who gave to the United Way and her name was drawn out of a huge barrel full of names and she was blown away, she was so surprised and just couldn't believe that she had won something when all she'd done is what she's always done which is give back," said Camille.

The United Way Prize Patrol will be back on the prowl next week so make sure you get to a United Way campaign meeting and fill out the card for the drawing.

You can give back at anytime by visiting the United Way of the Coastal Empire's website, www.uwce.org.
