Cooking up meals for a good cause

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's Second Harvest held their 18th Chef's Table to benefit the Kids Cafe.

It's a night of extravagant meals cooked up by some of our area's best chefs. But that wasn't all the chefs auctioned themselves off as well as other dinners, events and items; all to help children who don't necessarily get a dinner every night.

"Some children when they come home, their families just can't affort to feed them an evening meal, so we feed them an evening meal, and we tutor, we mentor, and it's just somewhere for them to go after school and we just think it's a really important community service," said Kathie Harlander, secretary of Second Harvest.

Sonny Dixon and Jody Chapin helped out as special guest auctioneers.
