POOLER, GA (WTOC) - Students got some help figuring out what they want to be when they grow up at a workforce development breakfast. It's part of Learning for Life's Explorer Post program. Business volunteers mentor the students as they pursue potential careers.
"I think it's a wonderful opportunity because what students learn is learning doesn't begin and end in the classroom. They have an opportunity to do hands on experience in the community with employers, get the experience needed to be successful and make an honest and clear career choice," said Dr. Antie Lewis, Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools.
Roughly 3,000 Savannah-Chatham Public School students benefit from programs like the Explorer Post initiative each year.
