CEMA offers more ways to receive alerts

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – Chatham Emergency Management Agency is looking for ways to step up its notification efforts during all hazards and threats. CEMA is also working to make coordination efforts more effective.

CEMA staff realized during the latest Emergency Operations Center activation some of its partners did not receive notification of the activation and operating condition changes during Hurricane Earl, according to a news release.

CEMA offers emergency information alerts by email, Facebook and Twitter. Go to ChathamEmergency.org to sign for both the CEMA Signal and CEMA Alert. CEMA is also able to send text alerts directly to your mobile phone. To receive those alerts send a text to 40404 and type follow ChathamEMA in the message space.
