Ga., SC to get federal help for small businesses

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Georgia and South Carolina are getting millions in federal dollars to give small businesses a much needed jump start.

The U.S. Department of Treasury is allocating funding to all 50 states to help local entrepreneurs expand their businesses and put more Americans back to work.

Georgia will get almost $48 million and South Carolina will receive nearly $18 million.  These funds are one component of the small business jobs act President Barack Obama signed into law last week to help unlock credit and provide targeted tax cuts for small businesses.
