SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Every week, the Savannah Quarterback Club will names its pick for the area's back and lineman of the week from the high school gridiron.
Taking home the honors after week six performances were Groves linebacker Sam Lowe and Savannah Christian running back Andrew Moore.
Against Johnson, Lowe recorded ten tackles, one for a loss. As a whole, the Rebel defense held Johnson to 12 offensive plays for -27 yards in the second half.
Suprisingly, Lowe was still shocked when receiving word of the honor.
"I was like, me?," he said with a smile. "Man I was jumping around, I was happy man. This is amazing. This is a time you'll never forget, no matter what happens. This is what you tell your children about."
Raiders running back Andrew Moore will also have a story to tell. Named back of the week, the Savannah Christian runinng back amassed 39 carries, for 211 yards against Country Day.
"I couldn't do it without my offensive line," Moore said. "Great guys, big guys open up holes for me, and I just ran as hard as I could the whole time."
