SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Chatham County Sheriff's Office's Sex Offender Registration and Tracking Unit arrested a sex offender for probation violation, which is a felony.
Thomas Capers went missing from his home on Junco Way since mid-September. He is classified as a level two sex offender and was convicted of rape in 1992. The Chatham County Sheriff's Office says he has a history of violating his sex offender requirements.
He was found at Georgia Regional Hospital and was taken to the Chatham County Detention Center. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday afternoon.
Capers will also be charged with forgery in the first degree based on a warrant issued by the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police.
