STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Great Dane Trailers held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for its new refrigerated trailer plant at a site off of A.J. Riggs Road in Statesboro.
Gov. Sonny Perdue, local leaders and Great Dane company officials were there to celebrate.
The new plant will produce single- and multi-temp refrigerated trailers to support the food service industry. It will be a 450,000-square-foot facility on a 118-acre site.
The facility is an investment of $33.5 million by the company and will create more than 400 jobs over the next four years, according to the governor's office.
Construction of the new facility is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
