SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It's the 25th anniversary of the Coastal Center of Developmental Services' Community Employment Service. The program trains and finds jobs for those with disabilities around Savannah and the Lowcountry.
Mayor Otis Johnson and others were on hand for a ceremony and reception highlighting all of the great work done by CCDS in helping so many overcome obstacles to earn a living.
"I think one of our greatest assets has been the partnerships we've developed with our community businesses and also the individuals we have the opportunity to serve," said Wanda Bohnstedt. "These individuals are out there making real full lives for themselves and it's a great privilege to serve them."
CCDS has been serving the community in and around Savannah for over 30 years.
