Restaurant holding Lindsapalooza fundraiser

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Sandfly Sports Bar will hold a fundraiser for Lindsey's Place on Sunday, Oct. 17 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Lindsey's Place is a not-for-profit organization for children and young adults with special needs, founded by Savannah resident, Donna Hart.

Hart's daughter, Lindsey, was born with cerebral palsy, a condition that means she is completely dependant on others.

"When school is out, there is nobody to go play with these kids," said Hart. "During the summer, there is nowhere to go."

For 12 years, Lindsey attended a special needs summer camp all the way in Long Island, NY.

"We thought it would be great to have something in the southeast because there is not something for multiple disabilities," said Hart.

Lindsey's Place hopes to build up enough funding to host their own summer camps.

All proceeds from Lindsapalooza go to Lindsey's Place. The event will feature several local bands, an oyster roast, barbeque, lowcountry boil, face painting, silent auction and much more. Tickets are $20. Sandfly Sports Bar is located on Skidaway Rd in Savannah. Visit for more information.
