SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A missing Savannah woman was found, but not the way her family hoped.

Police say 57-year-old Sally Faison's body was spotted by a passerby in a marsh off of LaRoche Avenue near Majestic Oaks.

Faison was a grandmother to thirteen and her family says they can't really have closure until they know how she died.

"She was well and fine and the next day she was missing and gone. That is a tough pill to swallow," her son Alphonso Faison said.

Sally Faison's family says they don't suspect foul play. Savannah Chatham Metro Police say no visible injuries were found on her body.

All the family knows is she was last spotted getting onto a bus downtown on Tuesday.

"She called my sister and that was the last time we heard her. She didn't come home that night. We knew from that point on it was very strange," Alphonso Faison said.

A bus stop is located right across the street from where Faison's body was found. But family members say that area is not one they thought her mom frequented.

"She would normally go on the city bus and go to Walmart or downtown. She would always come back home and when she didn't come home it alarmed us," Naimah Faison said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is performing an autopsy on Sally Faison. The family hopes to learn more about how she died when those results are released.
