SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Just a little more than two weeks from the November elections and there is some confusion surrounding who gets an absentee ballot.
There are some wondering why they haven't received one in the mail for this election. The Chatham County Voting Office says absentee ballots are not automatically sent out.
"Anybody out there who wishes to have an absentee ballot for the November 2 General Election they still have time. They just have to write us a letter saying they would like an absentee ballot sent to them," said Chatham County Voting Office Director Sandra Williams.
The most important part of that letter is the signature. An absentee ballot will not be sent unless there is legible signature at the bottom of the letter.
