Detour set for State Road 23 in Tattnall Co.

TATTNALL CO., GA (WTOC) – A detour is going up at State Road 23 in Tattnall County while work is being done on a railroad crossing.

Starting at 4 p.m. Oct. 26 through 4 p.m. Oct. 29 a detour will be set up at State Road 23 in Collins, Ga.

Here are the detour routes from the Georgia Dept. of Transportation:

Drivers headed north on State Road 23 will be detoured right (east) on State Road 30/U.S. 280 in Riedsville; then turn left (north) on State Road 169 in Bellville; then turn left (west) on State Road 292 and travel back to State Road. 23.

Drivers headed south on State Road 23 will be detoured left (east) on State Road 292; then turn right (south) on State Road 169 in Bellville; then turn right (west) on State Road. 30/U.S. 280 and travel back to State Road 23.

    Subtropical Storm Alberto continues to bring heavy rain and a high risk for rip currents to the Gulf Coast.  Alberto is just west of Tampa and moving to north by northwest at 12mph.  Peak winds are 50 mph and no significant strengthening is expected as we head into Monday.
