SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Nestle Gerber company has responded to a Savannah woman's claim of finding a roach in her daughter's baby food.
On Monday, Cindy Udinsky says she opened a package of the Gerber graduates ceral twists and a live roach crawled out and up her arm. She said she also found roach feces in the wrapper. See Mom finds roach in daughter's food.
Udinsky called Gerber immediately.
Gerber issued the following response:

We treat every consumer call seriously and investigate product concerns thoroughly.
Nestlé Infant Nutrition was notified of the presence of a foreign object in a package of GERBER® Graduates® for Preschoolers Cereal Twists®. We take great care with every product we make and it is highly unusual that something of this nature would be found in a finished product. As part of our usual procedure, we are in the process of retrieving the product in question to investigate. This is the only consumer contact of this type, and this is an isolated incident.

The ceral bars were purchased from Walmart on Montgomery Cross Road. They have not yet responded.
