ATLANTA (AP) - A Clayton County police officer is recovering from his injuries after police say he was stabbed multiple times at his southeast Atlanta town house.
Atlanta police spokesman James Polite says officers and medical personnel responded to a 911 call placed at around 7 a.m. to the residence.
Polite says the 21-year-old off-duty policeman was stabbed multiple times in the upper torso and neck area and is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Atlanta police are not identifying the officer. The incident is still under investigation by Clayton and Atlanta authorities and no arrests have been made.
Clayton County Police Spokesman Otis Willis says the department is not commenting on the incident at this time.
