Marching band wins top award

RICHMOND HILL, GA (WTOC) – The Richmond Hill High School Wildcat marching band won first plan in a competition over the weekend in Valdosta, Ga.

The band earned superiors in each category – Drum Major, Color Guard, Percussion and Band -- in addition to getting first place at the sixth Annual Battle on the Border competition on Oct. 23.

The Grand Champions beat 14 other bands, including bands from Valdosta High School, Camden County and Lincoln High School from Tallahassee, Fla. In addition to the Grand Champion designation, the RHHS Wildcats won the Best Visual,

Best Music and Best General Effect awards.
