HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) – An unknown substance found at the post office was identified as shaving powder, according to the Fort Stewart Public Affairs Office.
The post office and Winn Army Community Hospital were closed until 1:45 p.m. when an all-clear was given.
The Fort Stewart Fire Department Hazardous Decontamination Team responded at about noon to the scene.
A post office employee had been admitted to the Winn Army Community Hospital emergency department after coming in contact with the unknown substance and is now listed in stable condition.
A news conference will be held at 3:45 p.m. at the Fort Stewart Crisis Management Center.
