VIDALIA, GA (WTOC) – Vidalia police, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are searching for a man who burglarized a bank Wednesday morning.
It happened at about 6:30 a.m. at the Altamaha Bank and Trust on Highway 280 in Vidalia.
Two employees showed up at the bank to open and there was a masked man already inside, according to authorities. The man pointed his handgun at the bank workers demanding them to open the safe. The employees told him they didn't have the safe's combination. Authorities said the man shot one of the employees in the leg and took the keys to the other employee's pickup truck and took off.
The truck was recovered at the Toombs-Montgomery County line.
Authorities are searching for the suspect.
