Soldiers run to support breast cancer research

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – Hundreds of 3rd ID soldiers are painting the town pink Wednesday morning.

There are 500 soldiers from Hunter Army Airfield running in formation through the streets of Savannah in support of breast cancer research. Soldiers stepped off at 9 a.m. from the Wilson Gate at Hunter and they're headed to the Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion on Reynolds Street.

At the same time, about 1,200 soldiers from the 3rd Sustainment Brigade Deployed to Iraq will be shown on a big screen completing their run. Several Savannah intersections will be temporarily closed as  soldiers pass through the area.
