Man convicted on armed robbery charges

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A man was convicted on Oct. 19 on two counts of armed robbery and criminal trespass (damage to property) by a jury of his peers, according to the Chatham County District Attorney's Office.

On May 9, 2009, Horace Temple, 45, robbed a Checkers at 100 E. DeRenne Ave., where he was a frequent and well-known visitor.

He went up to the drive-through window, showed a handgun and took several hundred dollars from an open cash register, according to the district attorney's office.

He's scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 2.
